SofIPTV

Setup and troubleshooting

Xtream Codes login

SofIPTV reads subscriptions in the Xtream Codes format. This page explains what to enter, in which form, and how to read the most common errors.

In four steps

  1. Open ⚙ Config on the TV
  2. Select the Xtream Codes mode
  3. Enter host, username and password
  4. Confirm and wait for the channel list to load

What your service gives you

An Xtream Codes subscription always comes with three pieces of information: a host address, a username and a password. The host looks like http://example.tld:8080 — a domain name followed by a port. Your provider supplies them; SofIPTV neither provides nor sells them.

Compared with a plain M3U URL, this mode carries channel categories and the programme guide as well, with no extra setup.

Entering the connection in SofIPTV

In ⚙ Config, choose the Xtream Codes mode and fill in the three fields. SofIPTV only replaces your stored source after a successful load: a failed attempt never costs you your previous connection.

Credentials stay on the device. They never pass through SofIPTV servers, which only handle the trial and the licence.

Common errors and what they mean

  • Missing porthttp://example.tld without :8080 almost always fails. The port is part of the address.
  • http vs https — the two are not interchangeable. Use exactly what your provider states.
  • Trailing slash — add nothing after the port.
  • Credentials rejected — one stray capital or space is enough. Retype instead of pasting from a message.
  • Empty list on an accepted login — the account exists but grants no category; that is a question for your provider.
  • Refused after several devices — many services cap simultaneous connections.

If the list loads but a channel will not start

Then the connection is fine and the stream itself is the issue. A TV set does not decode every format: see M3U URL and troubleshooting, where the codec section applies to Xtream connections too.

Frequently asked questions

Does SofIPTV provide a subscription?

No. SofIPTV is a player. You use your own subscription, obtained legitimately from the service of your choice.

Are my credentials sent anywhere?

No. They are stored locally on the device. The SofIPTV server only handles the trial period and activation.

Can I switch subscription?

Yes. Enter the new connection in Config: it replaces the stored source only once the list has loaded correctly.

Responsible use
